American Indians create distinctive styles of artistic work. American Indian artistic expression faces the dualistic dilemma of remaining viable and active as a cultural expression. American Indian art inaccurately interpreted, relationships between traditional and contemporary arts, how the contemporary American Indian art market changes artistic forms, and how contemporary images are created and maintained in art will be discussed.
