FREE Japanese Traditions Workshop this Saturday, April 23rd at El Marino

Japanese Traditions workshop this Saturday, April 23rd from 3:30pm to 8pm at El Marino Language School in Culver City

FREE EVENT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC THIS SATURDAY 4/23 from 3:30 to 8pm at El Marino Language School (11450 Port Road Culver City, CA). Exhibitions and performances include kimono wearing, tea ceremony, shamisen music, bonsai demonstration, sushi making, taiko and other Japanese traditional arts.

The first 100 children will receive a Japanese traditional toy. We will also be giving away free handkerchiefs to 100 people to introduce the concept from Japan of carrying around a handkerchief to dry your hands after washing which conserves use of paper towels.

Two Japanese inspired dishes which have gone viral on the internet - Keizo Shimamoto's original Ramen Burger and the mizu shingen mochi (raindrop cake) made by Sawtelle Japantown restaurant Kimukatsu will be sold.
