L.A. Women's Theatre Festival Hosts "ENCORE!"

Wednesday's event will be at the Ivy Substation.

Just on the heels of the annual Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival, the organization is sponsoring a performance of "Encore" tomorrow night at the .

Some of the featured artists scheduled to perform include: Taffy Wallace, Sheetal Gandhi, The Lindz, and Cynthia Ling Lee. Actress Dina Morrone, who was originally on the program, now has another work conflict. However, she said having the opportunity to perform last weekend during the Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival was "a real thrill."

Philip Sokoloff, who is handling publicity for Wednesday's event, said the organizers are expecting to be well received given the fact last year's performance was sold out.

"We were warmly received last year, and we're happy to be there," he said.

Tomorrow night's performance, which will be hosted by Bertila Damas and Penny Arcade, will feature dance, theatre and poetry. The Culver City Performing Arts Grant Program along with Sony Pictures Entertainment helped sponsor the event, Sokoloff said.

This month's festivities coincide with the annual, nationwide celebration of Women's History Month. "Encore" is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. tomorrow at the Ivy Substation located at 9070 Venice Blvd.
