LOCAL MORGAN STANLEY VOLUNTEERS PREPARE AND DELIVER NUTRITIOUS MEALS TO LOS ANGELES HOMELESS
20 volunteers from Morgan Stanley's Beverly Hills branch partnered with local non-profit to provide hot, nutritious meals to the homeless
Last month, 20 volunteers from Morgan Stanley’s Beverly Hills branch partnered with local non-profit Brothers’ Helpers to provide 250 hot, nutritious meals to the homeless within the area. Volunteers gathered near Olvera Street in Los Angeles where they prepared and distributed meals to help feed the hungry in one of the country’s poorest communities.
This is not the first time Morgan Stanley’s local financial advisors have volunteered with Brothers’ Helpers, an LA-based non-profit aimed at preparing and distributing food and supplies to those who need it most. Under the leadership of Graham O’Kelly, Senior Vice President of the firm’s Beverly Hills branch, Morgan Stanley volunteers have been returning regularly in the last few years demonstrating their personal, hands-on commitment to the Los Angeles community.
O’Kelly has been volunteering regularly, working closely with Brothers’ Helpers’ Co-Executive Director Roberta Peters. The nonprofit provides much-needed assistance to Los Angeles’ 80,000 homeless population. Considered the largest homeless population in the country, at least 10,000 are adolescents in the LA area. Most not only lack shelter, but also basic access to food and supplies. Brothers’ Helpers and its volunteers have been helping to address this issue by providing hot, nutritious meals to LA’s homeless face-to-face for more than 13 years.
