Macy’s Cuts Nearly 4,000 Management, Staff Positions
In March, Macy's said it would furlough most of its 130,000 workers and move to an "absolute minimum workforce."
CULVER CITY, CA — Retailing giant Macy’s, headquartered in New York, announced staff reductions today that will affect management and workers across various levels of its organization. The layoffs include 3,900 people in corporate and management roles. The company has also cut staff in its stores and throughout its supply chain and customer support network.
In March, Macy’s said it would furlough most of its 130,000 workers and move to an “absolute minimum workforce” as the coronavirus pandemic began, days before the chain closed all of its stores nationwide.
