Man Stabbed At Big Lots In Culver City

A man was reportedly stabbed in the hand at a Big Lots in Culver City, police said.

CULVER CITY, CA — A man was stabbed in the hand Monday afternoon at a Big Lots store in Culver City, police said.

The suspect approached the victim at the store, located at 5587 Sepulveda Blvd., near Jefferson Boulevard, demanded money and "began to violently swing the knife" at him, according to the Culver City Police Department.

The knife hit the man in the left hand, causing him to bleed profusely, police said. The suspect demanded the man's sweatshirt, which he handed over out of fear for his life.

The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.

The male suspect—who is described as 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, with a disheveled appearance—ran away, according to police.
