Spaghettini & the Dave Koz Lounge Opens for Lunch
Jazz junkies and foodies will love this new hot spot in Beverly Hills
I’m a jazz junkie. So when you combine smooth jazz with fine dining, who could ask for anything more? Welcome to Spaghettini & the Dave Koz Lounge in Beverly Hills, where the fusion of food and fine tunes are exquisitely paired.
Many of you are probably familiar with Spaghettini down in Seal Beach. Unfortunately, I was too lazy to fight the 405 to investigate this place, but when I heard that Spaghettini had opened in Beverly Hills, I was anxious to give it a try. I was impressed.
Besides dinner, Spaghettini recently opened for lunch, and it’s a hit. Expect to rub shoulders with all the music biz movers-and-shakers in this progressively decorated restaurant. Thankfully, the dining room isn’t too large, giving ample viewership of the stage.

Live music is what sets this restaurant apart from many of its competitors in the area. But the food? It’s quite remarkable thanks to the expertise of Chef Scott Howard, whom Food & Wine, New York Times, Gourmet, The San Francisco Chronicle, and the Michelin Guide, as well as many others have commended.
Howard showcases his dynamic menu in an innovative fashion without being too over-the-top with obscure ingredients and conflicting flavors.

Under their starters, their innovative Burrata is a must. Served with strawberry jam, miso, wild rocket arugula, yuzu and aged balsamic, Howard puts a unique twist on this popular appetizer.
On their more mild side is the Chilean Sea Bass, which is quite tender and flanked with asparagus spears and mashed potatoes. We also enjoyed their Chicken Cobb and Crab & Shrimp Louie. A variety of sandwiches, and other delectable items are also on hand to enjoy.
But my favorite by far was their signature dish, Spaghettini, a medley of pasta, shrimp, Dungeness crab, saffron, fennel pollen and uni butter. Thankfully, there was enough to warrant a doggie bag, which we enjoyed later.
Canon Drive is punctuated with many fine-dining establishments, but this one sets the bar a little higher, and I’m glad that I had the opportunity to give it a try. I’ll definitely be back for dinner. Maybe I’ll even get a chance to rub elbow with Dave Koz, one of my favorite musicians!
