Stolen Laptop Recovered In Culver City Traffic Stop

The laptop's owner wasn't aware the laptop was stolen until they were contacted by police.

CULVER CITY, CA – During an early morning traffic stop Tuesday, officers in Culver City recovered a laptop allegedly stolen from a motorist's vehicle the previous night, although the motorist was unaware his computer was stolen.

The officers conducted the traffic stop about 4:45 a.m. at Washington Boulevard and Walgrove Avenue and through a search of the vehicle found several burglary tools such as a Slim Jim, door-props, a crow bar along with the laptop computer, the Culver City Police Department reported.

Officers contacted the owner, who after checking his vehicle, discovered that he had been a victim of vehicle burglary.

"The victim stated he had locked his vehicle last night with the computer and paperwork inside and after being called by officers, he discovered his vehicle unlocked and the property missing," police said. "Based on the victim's statements and the evidence recovered, the suspects were arrested and booked."
