The Wonderful World of Linwood Howe
Children at Linwood Howe Elementary had the opportunity to chant, 'no more teachers, no more books' at the Friday Field Day.

Despite the drizzle, Linwood E. Howe's Field Day went on as planned. The wet grass and mud only made the mayhem more fun. I mean, what elementary school student doesn't want to get dirty on their last day of school?
The annual tradition started by Booster Club President Paul Walsleben (Ruby and Lucas' dad) and Booster Club Outreach Organizer Rebecca Cogan (Brooke, Ashleigh and Mason’s mom) was created to give the teachers some much-needed quiet time to complete year-end administrative work, and give the students a day of play. Challenging team-building activities were the order of the day, as family members were pitted against kids for fun competitive games. There were tons of exciting games, including soccer, beanbag tosses, and hula hooping.

According to other kids on campus, this year’s event was a hit: "I am having a blast!" said Irma Berganza, a 4th grade student.
Said Sadie Treleven, another 4th grade student: "I don't like it, I love it!”

All of the parents took the day off to enjoy this last opportunity to play and have fun with their kids at this festive event. And to top it off, this year we were exceptionally lucky to have volunteers from our new Culver City neighbors Verve Talent—a talent and literacy agency that recently opened up offices in Culver City and instantly offered help to LinHowe.
So many people plus so many games equals a whole lot of fun.
