2 Men Shot Dead Near SJSU Identified

The victims were 20 and 22 years old. Police are looking for suspects in the case.

SAN JOSE, CA -- Two men fatally shot last week near the San Jose State University campus have been identified as 20-year-old Edwin Verduro and 22-year-old Meneses Rangel, police said today.

The victims, San Jose residents, both suffered at least one gunshot wound on June 28 when they were found in the area of South 11th and East San Antonio streets, just a block east of the school, according to
police.

Officers responded to the area at about 2:10 p.m. that day on a report of a person shot, police said.

The men were transported to a hospital where one of them died of his injuries shortly after his arrival, according to police.

The other victim succumbed to his injuries from the shooting two days later, according to police.

Police haven't identified any suspects and are looking into the circumstances surrounding the shooting, police said.
