What distinguishes Vikram is not just his academic strength but also a consistent pattern of solving problems to make the world a better place, building systems that address real challenges across engineering, education and community impact.
With a clear interest in environmental engineering, he has taken the initiative to design and implement a composting system within his high school. This project goes beyond awareness. One day, Vikram observed the high school principal collect trash from the campus grounds and dispose of it single-handedly. This made Vikram question why there is no better system for recycling and sorting trash from recyclable refuse.
His natural curiosity drove him to learn everything possible about recycling, and with his engineering mindset, he decided to focus on creating a practical solution for food waste collection and sorting, incorporating both logistical design and behavioral engagement through multiple communication channels. The work reflects an early understanding of sustainability as both a technical and systems-level challenge.
At the same time, he is dedicated to education, demonstrating an equally strong commitment to expanding access to knowledge. Through “A Step Ahead,” he has developed comprehensive curricula for students locally and internationally, reaching learners in Kenya, India and South America. His efforts are not occasional; he wakes up at 6 a.m. every Sunday to teach Python to students in Kenya. This is not just volunteering—it is sustained global engagement through teaching and curriculum design.
In parallel, he has gained early industry experience as a Backend Software Engineering Intern at Pisco, where, within just four weeks, he contributed over 10,000 lines of code to backend pipelines and worked directly on core systems. This level of contribution at an early stage reflects both technical capability and a willingness to engage with complex, real-world engineering problems.
Finally, his work with “Circle of Friends” highlights a thoughtful application of STEM beyond traditional settings. By designing and leading workshops for special education students across the district, he is adapting technical concepts into accessible, inclusive experiences.
Vikram truly operates at the intersection of engineering, education and community service. He doesn’t simply participate; he builds, teaches and creates systems that extend beyond himself.
