• Man Made Racial Slurs, Threw Beer Bottle At Man And Son: Police (patch.com) — A man was recently arrested after an alleged hate-motivated confrontation at Jollyman Park in Cupertino, where racial slurs were reported and a beer bottle was thrown, though no one was hurt. Sheriff’s officials stress that hate crimes won’t be tolerated in Cupertino and urge anyone who feels threatened or witnessed the incident to contact West Valley Detectives.    

• Former De Anza College soccer coach earns national recognition (mercurynews.com) — A longtime leader at Cupertino’s De Anza College is being nationally honored for decades of work building its soccer and athletics programs.
