NOTCH Magazine Keeps Local Indian Community Connected to Culture

Cupertino is home to more than 13,000 Asian Indian residents, according to the 2010 US Census.

Now these local residents and others interested in India’s entertainment and culture, can stay connected with the latest stories from 'home' with the growing number of digital media, including the recent launch of NOTCH Magazine, India’s first digital lifestyle magazine.

Located at www.notchmag.com , NOTCH boasts the latest feature coverage of that country’s dynamic entertainment scene by showcasing fashion, design, art, cinema, food and travel.

The November issue features a cover story on the legendary Bollywood father-and-son duo of Javed Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar.   And, the inaugural issue of the digital-only magazine offered an in-depth interview with high-quality photos of award-winning Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor.  Much of the site’s content is available free of charge during the magazine’s initial launch period, but subscriptions are also offered.

“NOTCH presents our vision of contemporary India in an exciting and interactive medium available to everyone at their fingertips,” said Pradeep Dadha, president and CEO of NOTCH Media Pvt. Ltd., the Chennai, India-based media and entertainment company behind the magazine.  “We invite local  residents to visit the website,” that has already generated 385,000 Facebook fans from around the world.

Besides using media, community members rely on other ties to their culture.  A Nielsen survey earlier this year of Indians living outside India, found that Indian food, Bollywood and Indian festivals were the top three lifestyle activities that keep them connected with their native culture.
