Another Kind of Green
Between composting and shredding, the city of Cupertino is all kinds of green this week.

Sure the day o’ the green—St. Patrick's Day—is this week, but Cupertino is putting on another kind of green, too.
Call it a pre-Earth Day movement if you will, but in addition to the full-to-capacity compost class Wednesday night offered by the city, a jointly sponsored recycling day will take place Saturday.
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Cupertino residents can turn leafy-green and shed some household waste at the same time.

Cupertino residents can drop off, at no cost, their electronic waste, construction or demolition material, children’s plastic toys, clothing and shoes, yard waste and reusable furniture.
And paper pack rats who save every scrap of paper, important or insignificant, can take up to two boxes of confidential documents to the event and walk away confident that only a shred of evidence will remain.
