Antidote to Stress

Project Happiness Virtual Race for Mental Wellness

Project Happiness Virtual Race for Mental Wellness

Project Happiness launched its first global campaign - The Virtual Race for Mental Wellness at the Cupertino Educational Endowment Foundation (CEEF) 4th Annual 5K Run for Great Schools and Fun Run held at The Oaks Shopping Center in Cupertino this past Saturday, August 25th. In a climate when school shootings and suicides are in the news, and the World Health Organization has declared that depression is the leading cause of suffering worldwide, we need a massive intervention. Cupertino-based Project Happiness provides engaging, science-based preventive wellness programs for schools, organizations and an online community of 2.5 million.

“The good news is that happiness is not just a state; it’s a skill that can be learned, and the need is greater than ever,” says Randy Taran, Co-Founder and CEO of Project Happiness. Everyone knows someone who has been affected by depression or anxiety. According to the American Psychological Association, when school is in session, kids are the most stressed group in the country. In 2018, Project Happiness began a pilot program in partnership with LG Electronics USA initiative “Life’s Good: Experience Happiness” to bring Project Happiness programs to high schools around the country. This school year, the program is tripling in size. “This race is the perfect way to show our support, in order to reach even more people in underserved communities with our programs,” says Co-Founder David Taran.

The Virtual Race for Wellness is an exciting way to involve youth, adults and communities in feeling good and doing good through physical movement. This race allows people anywhere in the world to participate at their convenience and location of their choice during a specified period of time. Every step taken, no matter where you live or work, helps Project Happiness reach their goal of bringing our programs to those who need it most, regardless of financial constraints.

Participants register now at bitly.com/Race4Wellness for one month of fitness from September 15th to October 15th, move towards their health goals, and change lives. Participants can join individually or create a team of family, friends and/or co-workers. Their involvement supports Project Happiness in educating youth and people of all ages with proven tools for greater happiness and wellbeing.

In addition to the month-long social media wellness challenges, many generous donors have sponsored special wellness giveaways. One winner will get a 4-day stay at Nihi Sumba, near Bali, which has been ranked the #1 resort in the World by Travel & Leisure Magazine for two years running. Together we can erase the stigma to mental wellness and promote emotional resilience and a better life for all.
