Apple Developer Portal Hacked

Company concedes that 'sensitive' information may have been compromised.

Written by Beatrice Karnes

Apple’s developer portal has been inaccessible since last Thursday. The reason, according to Apple, was that “an intruder attempted to secure personal information of our registered developers.” While the company pointed out that the information is encrypted, some information may have been accessed.

The company has responded to the breach by doing a complete overhaul including developer systems, server software and rebuilding the developer database.

Apple apologized to developers for the inconvenience.
