Apple’s New Patent Hints At iWatch; Lab 126 Is Hiring

You may be soon wearing a smart video device with a multi-touch display on your wrist. Speculations around iWatch finally received some validation Thursday, Feb. 21 when the US Patent Office revealed Apple’s new patent application for “an advanced wearable computer in the form of a bracelet that could double as a watch.” The “slap wrap” patent describes a wristband that uses a bi-stable spring, similar to a snap bracelet.

Seagate Technology

Provider of storage solutions, Seagate announced its newest network-attached storage (NAS) product line on Tuesday, Feb. 19 for small to medium-sized businesses, home offices and remote mobile offices. Seagate Business Storage delivers centralized backup, data protection and remote access to critical business information in capacities ranging from 2TB up to 16TBs that works well both within the existing cloud backup and online sharing services.

Lab 126

Cupertino-based Lab 126, the research and development arm of Amazon, is on a hiring spree. The company is currently “seeking thoughtful, curious, passionate people with talent in engineering, design, operations and more.” They have over 200 open positions listed on their website.

Trend Micro’s fourth annual “What's your Story” contest is now underway. Open to schools and individual film-makers, this user generated video contest encourages participants to talk about the “good side of the Internet” through creative storytelling.
