Breaking: "He admitted to storing the drugs in his body to be smuggled into a correctional facility," Santa Clara police said.
SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA -- A man with an alleged lengthy rap sheet involving stolen vehicles in the city of Santa Clara was tracked down and arrested Thursday in San Jose following an investigation by the Santa Clara Police Department's Special Enforcement Team.
William Lindley "has a history of stealing vehicles from Santa Clara and/or dumping them in our city," police said in a statement Tuesday, noting that Lindley had several felony warrants out for his arrest.
On Thursday, the SET team had located Lindley, who was with a woman later identified as Regina Petroff, in a vehicle in the 6100 block of San Ignacio Avenue in San Jose. After taking Lindley into custody, detectives searched the vehicle and allegedly found six methamphetamine bindles, three heroin bindles, 12 marijuana bindles, drug paraphernalia, a stolen credit card and approximately $800.
