3.25 Inches; Are You Kidding Me?

This proves that David Doyle is no duffer.

The mighty David Doyle stepped up to the back of the 10th tee at to survey his next shot at closest-to-the-pin last night.  With a sharp eye and keen sense of direction he took his stance, pulled the blade back with the smoothness of a fly fisherman's cast and followed through like a pro.  The ball soared through the air and the crowd drew a rapid gasp of air as the ball's flight was clearly on-line to the hole.  The moment burst into clapping and cheers as the ball hit the fairway and rolled up for what appeared to be a -- for sure -- hole-in-one; but, it was not to be for David.  The shot resulted in one of the nights' qualifiers at 3.25 inches from side of the center of the cup.

No worries competitors, each night stands on its own merits and just because David is a master of the game does not close you out from trying tonight or any night next week Monday through Friday the 13th.  The tee is open and ready for your shot at 6:00 PM through dusk. Good job, David.

Final note: there are only a few foursomes left open for the Cupertino presented by on Saturday, May 14th.  Remember there are two tournaments that day, the 9-hole in the morning and a following 18-holes.
