Damian Trujillo, host of Comunidad del Valle on NBC, interviewed Anthony Pineda and I about how we were inspired by Dr. Oliver Sacks' book, Musicophilia, to use music to teach kids to stay in school and learn foreign languages. For me, music resonates in the heart and inspires people to learn foreign languages. Pineda says hip hop is a powerful language with youths, especially at-risk kids who need support and motivation to stay in school.
