Here is me in my hometown of Schöngeising, Germany. It is a tiny town compared to your American cities. The population there is only 1,800 people. Going to a bigger city in the area would pose a problem for someone without a car. Thank goodness we have a wonderful train system called the Stadtschnellbahn or S-Bahn for short. Lucky for me the nearest S-Bahn station was only down the street. The great thing about little towns like mine is that no matter where you are you can always find the train station because they always have the same street name-Bahnhofstraße (train station street).
This is where I grew up in a little farm town that specialized in growing wheat. That's how I became so muscly...I ate my Wheaties!
We also grew gladiolas at the edge of our farm near the main road and got extra money from people who picked their own flowers and put money in the little box next to the plot. It wasn't a lot of money, just enough to treat ourselves once in a while.
