Varsity Soccer: Monta Vista Loses First Game Against Valley Christian
A short recap of Monta Vista Varsity Soccer's first game against Valley Christian.
On Tuesday, November 28, the Monta Vista Matadors played the Valley Christian Warriors. It was their first preseason game, and sadly they lost 4-2.
The Matadors started off shaky, allowing the Warriors to slip two goals past the goalkeeper. For the majority of the first half, they were down 2-0. However goals scored by junior Hadar Sachs and senior Jessica Rahn allowed the Matadors to end the first half at a tie.
The beginning of the second half, the Matadors fought valiantly to score another goal but both teams remained at a stalemate. Then around the very end of the second half, the Warriors scored yet another two goals securing their win.

According to junior Gal Haroush, both teams were pretty well matched overall. She stated that the Warriors had a very aggressive style, and it took the Matadors a while to adjust, leading to the Warriors early goals. She also added that even though the score does not reflect this, the Matadors had numerous shots on goal each half with some hitting the crossbar and others barely missing the corners.
