CACCC Announces Organizational Changes

Cupertino CA – September 22, 2026 –The Chinese American Coalition for Compassionate Care (CACCC), an award-winning coalition devoted to addressing the end-of-life care concerns of the Chinese American community, announces organizational changes ─ names former CACCC Co-Board Chair Gary S. Lee, MD as CACCC Co-Executive Director, replacing Alex Tsao, PhD, who stepped down this past summer. CACCC thanks Alex for his dedication and service as he continues to serve as a convener of CACCC’s Speakers Bureau, Suicide Prevention, Mental Health and a faculty member of Mindful Self-Care Workshop and Poetic Medicine for Grief programs. Dr. Lee will serve with CACCC Co-Executive Director Cynthia X. Pan, MD. Drs. Lee and Pan serve in a volunteer capacity as co-executive directors and board members.

Additionally, CACCC promotes former program specialist, Cathy Liu to CACCC Program Director, reporting to Drs. Lee and Pan. Liu’s promotion will strengthen the organization’s administrative infrastructure, coordination of the day-to-day operations by working closely with the co-executive directors, board, volunteers, and community partners, project management, as well as the successful implementation of community grants and CACCC’s priorities into effective action and reporting outcomes. The organizational changes will build upon CACCC’s best practices to better serve coalition partners and the Chinese American community. It will foster new and existing partnerships and collaborations with community-based organizations (CBOs) to collectively enhance CACCC’s ability to meet community needs.
