A 12-year-old bicyclist who suffered major injuries in a collision with a car in Sunnyvale on Monday night died on Wednesday, a public safety official said today.
The boy, a Sunnyvale resident, rode his bicycle north at El Camino Real and Henderson Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. Monday when he was struck by a westbound car, public safety Capt. Jeffrey Plecque said.
An investigation indicated that the boy was not wearing a helmet when he crossed the intersection against a red light and was struck by the vehicle, Plecque said.
