The City of Cupertino, in cooperation with the Santa Clara County Public Health Department, will host a free community-based COVID-19 testing site at Creekside Park, 10455 Miller Avenue. Testing will be available on June 16, 17, and 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. This service is available to everyone regardless of their health provider and no doctor’s referral is needed.
“I encourage all of our residents to take advantage of this free service and get tested whether you feel ill or not,” Mayor Steven Scharf said. “While Cupertino’s COVID-19 case numbers remain relatively low, testing is crucial to help treat, isolate, or hospitalize those who are infected. This, in turn, ensures a safer and healthier community.”
The Public Health Department and Valley Medical Center will set up a walk-up test site for COVID-19 inside the park building. Visitors are asked to follow safety protocols, such as wearing a face covering and practice social distancing.
“I’d like to thank the Public Health Department and Valley Medical Center for offering the City of Cupertino and neighboring communities access to increased testing and effective containment of the virus,” Emergency Preparedness Coordinator Thomas Chin said. “Together, we will begin to rebuild the economy and shape a healthier future.”
