City Looking for Youth to Serve on Teen Commission
Any resident in the eighth through 12th grades is eligible to apply for commission positions that start in September.

Cupertino officials are looking for a few good teens to share their views on life for youth in the city by serving on the Teen Commission starting this September.
Applications will be accepted by the city clerk through May 13 to find five new members for the 10-member commission made up of eighth- through 12th-grade Cupertino residents. Students from any public or private school, or homeschooled students, are eligible. Terms last two years, with monthly meetings taking place September through May or June each year.
Last year more than 40 students applied for five positions, and city staff expect that many or possibly more. Parks and Recreation Director Mark Linder told the Cupertino City Council Tuesday night that most of the applicants came from one school last year, prompting staff members to meet with local principals to determine how to improve marketing to more schools in the area.
