Cops Find Car Involved In Winchester Blvd. Fatal Hit-and-Run In Parking Lot
A bicyclist died after being struck this morning. The driver of the red Honda Del Sol reportedly fled the scene.

Police have recovered a suspect vehicle in a hit-and-run collision that killed a bicyclist early this morning in San Jose.
The vehicle, a red Honda Del Sol, was involved in a collision reported in the area of South Winchester Boulevard and Driftwood Drive near Loma Verde Drive at 12:10 a.m., police Officer Albert Morales said.
Responding officers found a man who was on a bicycle suffering from serious injuries and emergency crews pronounced him dead at the scene, Morales said.

A preliminary investigation indicated the suspect driver struck the bicyclist, then drove away north on South Winchester Boulevard, according to Morales.
Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a red Honda Del Sol, which was found at a parking lot in the area of South Winchester Boulevard and Magliocco Drive, about a mile north from the collision, Morales said.

The car was found around 8:45 a.m. when officers responded to a report of a red vehicle that matched the one involved in the collision, he said. The vehicle was found unoccupied will be held as evidence, Morales said. Officers are still working on identifying and locating the suspect, according to Morales.
The death marks the cityās sixth traffic fatality this year, according to Morales. The Santa Clara County medical examinerās office is working to identify the deceased man and notifying his next of kin.
