Coroner IDs Area Man Killed In Sonoma Crash

A passenger in the single-car rollover was transported to a Napa hospital with injuries.

The Sonoma County coroner’s office has identified a driver who died in a solo vehicle crash northeast of Sonoma on Friday night as Yan Wang, 28, of Mountain View.

Wang was driving a 2010 Porsche Cayman south in the 18000 block of Seventh Street north of Castle Road in unincorporated Sonoma County shortly before 11:55 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The Porsche drifted onto the west shoulder of the road and struck a tree, went airborne, rolled and struck a fence and another tree, CHP officials said.

The Porsche landed on its roof, trapping Wang and a 28-year-old New York man inside.
