Cupertinians Compete at Boston Marathon
Four of the city's runners finished the prestigious Boston Marathon on Monday.

Four Cupertinians represented the city among nearly 24,000 marathoners who finished the storied Boston Marathon on Monday, along with dozens of other Santa Clara County runners.
Here are Cupertino's runners and their finish results:
- Terrence Garrity, 49, finished in three hours, 20 minutes and 55 seconds (3:20:55.) He placed 8,548 overall, 6,776 in the male category, and 1,176 in his division.
- Jose R. Yow, 61, finished in three hours, 48 minutes and 54 seconds (3:48:54.) He placed 16,584 overall, 10,458 in the male category, and 291 in his division.
- Michele Hugin, 46, finished in four hours and 17 seconds (4:00:17.) She placed 18,707 overall, 7,385 in the female category, and 1,120 in her division.
- Joseph F. Walter, 69, finished in four hours, 16 minutes and 26 seconds (4:16:26.) He placed 20,816 overall, 12,296 in the male category, and 131 in his division.
The world's oldest marathon, the Boston Marathon is a prestigious event that runners spend months or even years training for, just to meet the qualifying standards for the grueling 26.2-mile journey.
