Great America Is Hiring 600 Lifeguards & Staff for Water Park
Need a job? South Bay Shores Waterpark opens May 28, and hiring is underway in Santa Clara. Pay rates are up to $19 an hour.
SANTA CLARA, CA — California’s Great America is hiring up to 600 lifeguards and staff members for its South Bay Shores Waterpark, which opens May 28 for the summer seaon.
Along with lifeguards, the Santa Clara water park is seeking emergency medical technicians, food and beverage staff, bartenders and security personnel.
South Bay Shores pay rates are approximately $16.40 to $19 per hour, with returning associates starting at $20 per hour, according to Cedar Fair Entertainment Co., Great America's owner and operator.

Those interested can apply online here. And in-person job fairs are held Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., and Sundays from 9:45 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. at Great America offices at at 2401 Agnew Road in Santa Clara.

After $30 million in renovations, the 15-acre South Bay Shores Waterpark reopened in 2021 with seven new attractions, including four drop slides, two tube slides and a new lagoon area, upgraded food options and cabanas, plus a grassy play area.
