HEALING OF MEMORIES WITH FR MICHAEL LAPSLEY: FROM FREEDOM FIGHTER TO HEALER

Thursday, May 21, 1:30 pm-3:30 pm Fr Michael speaks at De Anza College, Conference Room B (next to food court). Injured in a letter bomb, he lost both arms and an eye. He founded the Institute for the Healing of Memories. He has worked in places of conflict such as South Africa, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Bosnia, Serbia, East Timor and also works in the USA with war veterans.
HEALING OF MEMORIES WORKSHOP : May 22-24, at St. Jude’s Church, (Friday 6-9 pm; Saturday 9-5 pm; Sunday 1-5 pm), 20920 McClellan Road, Cupertino, CA 95014. Cost: $50. You are warmly invited to participate in an experiential process of deep listening, reflecting, creativity and sharing. In sharing our unique stories, participants will be enabled to move towards healing and grace. Hearing the life experiences of others inspires empathy, promotes mutual understanding, and can lead to reconciliation. These processes prepare the ground for wider practices of forgiveness and reconciliation in our homes, communities and the parish.
Sunday, May 24: Michael Lapsley, at St. Jude’s, preaches at 8 am and 10:30 am services and speaks at the 9:15-10:15 am Community Forum.
Tuesday, May 26, 7:15 pm: Michael Lapsley speaks at St. Jude’s on issues of race in South Africa and the U.S.
