Our families were given the opportunity to have their blood sugar checked at the health station thanks to health professionals from Foothill Community Health Center. We also had a special Healthy Cooking Project: a group of girl scouts came to our program to help our families make Vietnamese rice and a chicken appetizer with fresh veggies.
Our families were also given the chance to sign up in healthcare programs. Certified Applications Assistants from the Healthier Kids Foundation as well as Kaiser Permanente came to assist our families to determine the best route of healthcare for them and helped them enroll.
