Help Make South Bay Child's Wish Come True This Holiday Season

Local nonprofit invites community to support annual gift program for local low income and homeless families.

The holiday season is a stressful time. Work deadlines, holiday office parties, family dinners and long shopping lists makes this some of the most difficult – and enjoyable – time of the year.

Now imagine the added stress of the holiday season for a low income or homeless family. In addition to normal seasonal stress, families living in poverty may be unable to afford winter clothes, special family meals, or holiday gifts. While the rest of the country is celebrating the season, these families may begin to feel like outsiders in their own community.

Thanks to local donors and the nonprofit West Valley Community Services (WVCS) , the holidays are brighter for low income and homeless individuals and families. Each year, WVCS hosts the Holiday Gift Program, a special event to help low income families celebrate the holiday season.

This year, the Holiday Gift Program will provide 300 children and almost 500 families with gifts of jackets, seasonally appropriate clothing, small household appliances, and toys. This event is made possible thanks to generous donations from the community. Your support can help make this holiday season extra special for a family in need. Deadline for donations is Dec. 9.
