Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting, Strangling South Bay Neighbor
The female victim told cops she was attacked and strangled until she blacked out, after the suspect let himself into her unlocked home.

SUNNYVALE, CA – A Sunnyvale male was arrested Wednesday accused of entering the residence of his 37-year-old female neighbor, then sexually assaulting her, according to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
Idris M. Record Godoy, 39, allegedly entered the unlocked home on the 1500 block of Hollenbeck, took the woman to another room, sexually assaulted her and strangled her until she lost consciousness, police said.
Arriving officers stopped Godoy as he was driving from the scene.

"He matched the physical description given by the victim," the department said. "He had injuries consistent with the assault and additional evidence was also found in his vehicle."
The victim was treated at a hospital for her injuries and later released, police said.

Godoy was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for suspicion of attempted murder, kidnapping, assault to commit rape and burglary.
