Medical Examiner Identifies Pedestrian Killed In Sunnyvale Car Crash
A 37-year-old pedestrian struck and killed by a car in Sunnyvale over the weekend has been identified.

SUNNYVALE - A 37-year-old pedestrian struck and killed by a car in Sunnyvale over the weekend has been identified as transient Hector Cruz, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.
Officers and fire crews responded to a reported major injury collision between a car and pedestrian in the area of El Camino Real and Cezanne Drive shortly before 1:30 a.m. Saturday, according to the city's Department of Public Safety.
Arriving crews found the 37-year-old man suffering from serious injuries, public safety officials said.

The pedestrian was transported to Stanford Hospital in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries a day later, according to public safety officials.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Drugs or alcohol don't appear to be factor in the collision, public safety officials said.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call investigator Dzanh Le of the department's Major Accident Investigation Team at (408) 730-7109.
