Motorcyclist Dies Negotiating Left Curve Off Hwy 35

The accident was Saturday afternoon.

A 26-year-old motorcyclist died when his motorcycle went off the road Saturday afternoon along the border between Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The first call of the crash on northbound state Highway 35 about a mile south of Alpine Road came in at 12:15 p.m., according to the CHP. CHP Officer Art Montiel said the motorcyclist was negotiating a left curve and may have been going to fast.

The cyclist lost control of the bike, went onto an asphalt and gravel shoulder and then down a slope about 50 feet, Montiel said.
