Pedestrian In Critical Condition After Early Morning Crash

The man was rushed to Stanford Medical after being struck in Sunnyvale.

SUNNYVALE, CA -- A pedestrian suffered major injuries early this morning after he was struck by a vehicle in Sunnyvale, according to city's Department of Public Safety.

At 1:26 a.m., officers responded to a report of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian near El Real and Cezanne Drive, public safety officials said.

The pedestrian, a 60-year-old man, was taken to Stanford Medical Center and remains in critical condition this afternoon, according to public safety officials.

The driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, public safety officials said.

Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash and are continuing to investigate the incident.
