Peninsula Teen Selected For Prestigious Youth Exchange Scholarship

Congrats to Katie Russell of Gunn High School! She is now headed to Finland.

Katie Russell, of Henry M. Gunn High School in Palo Alto has been named as a 2015 recipient of the Finland-U.S. Senate Youth Exchange scholarship.

Administered by Youth For Understanding USA (YFU) and funded by the Government of Finland, this prestigious scholarship provides selected high school students with the opportunity to study abroad and explore local culture in Finland.

Katie was selected from a national pool of applicants for the highly competitive scholarship.

YFU is an educational nonprofit that advances intercultural understanding, mutual respect, and social responsibility through exchanges for youth, families, and communities. Along with the Finland-U.S. Senate Youth Exchange, YFU USA administers hundreds of additional government and corporate funded scholarships for high schools students. The students selected for these programs represent some of the most talented youth in the United States.
