Police Investigate Hate Letter Reported By Islamic Center
The Evergreen Islamic Center in Santa Clara County reported the letter Thursday.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA – An Islamic center in San Jose received a letter with hate language, police said Friday.
Officers were dispatched to the Evergreen Islamic Center on Ruby Avenue at 7:10 p.m. Thursday on report of suspicious circumstances surrounding the letter.
The letter referred to the recipients as “children of Satan” and “vile and filthy people,” according to a report on SFGate.

The news report stated the letter said: “There’s a new sheriff in town — President Donald Trump,” adding, “He’s going to cleanse America and make it shine again. And, he’s going to start with you Muslims.”
The San Jose Police Department's assault unit, which investigates hate-motivated crimes, is conducting the follow up investigation. Police did not disclose any other details.
