Standoff With Armed Man In South Bay Ends; Suspect Arrested [UPDATE]
BREAKING: The subject was inside an East San Jose home with his child and threatening to hurt himself, police said.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA ā UPDATE: TUESDAY, DEC. 13, 10:35 a.m.
An armed man who threatened to hurt himself and was arrested after a nearly six-hour standoff that ended peacefully with police in San Jose has been identified as 43-year-old Jose Lopez.
Officers had responded at 1:43 a.m. to a report of a family disturbance in the 3200 block of Arthur Avenue.

Family members outside of the home said the man, later identified as Lopez, was armed with a gun and threatening to harm himself.
Police were eventually able to get Lopez to leave the home and then took him into custody, police Officer Albert Morales said.

Lopez's 6-year-old daughter was found safe inside the residence, according to Morales.
Lopez, a San Jose resident, was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, making criminal threats and resisting arrest, Morales said.

A police standoff with an armed man threatening to hurt himself ended peacefully this morning with the man being taken into custody.
Officers had responded at 1:43 a.m. to a report of a family disturbance in the 3200 block of Arthur Avenue.
Family members outside of the home said the man was armed with a gun and threatening to harm himself.
Police were eventually able to get him to leave the home and then took him into custody, police spokesman Officer Albert Morales said.

Police are currently involved in a standoff with an armed man threatening to hurt himself in East San Jose, police said.
At about 1:43 a.m. this morning, police responded to a report of a family disturbance in the 3200 block of Arthur Avenue.
Family members outside the home said the man was armed with a gun and threatening to harm himself.
Police are trying to coax him out of the house. The San Jose Mobile Emergency Response Group and Equipment unit was called in to help with the situation, police said.
No further information is immediately available.
