Reading "The Light Between Oceans" at Cupertino Library
Thursday, July 21, 7:00 pm. Cupertino Library Story Room

This month, the Cupertino Library Adult Book Discussion group will talk about the novel The Light Between Oceans by Margo Stedman.
After WWI Tom Sherbourne takes the job of lighthouse keeper on Janus Rock off the west coast of Australia in hopes of forgetting the war. He and his bride Isabel want a family, but after a number of miscarriages, her latest pregnancy ends with a stillbirth. When a living baby and her dead father are shipwrecked on Janus Rock soon afterwards, Isabel persuades Tom they should keep the baby. Out of love although against his better judgment, he agrees. Back on the mainland two years later, Tom and Isabel are confronted by the little girl’s mother who wants her child back.
The Cupertino Library Adult Book Discussion Group meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Library Story Room. Adults of all ages are welcome. All meetings are kindly sponsored by The Friends of the Cupertino Library
