Santa Clara Co. Deputy Injured In Hit-And-Run on S. DeAnza Blvd.

The driver of the white Ford fled the scene near Cupertino on Tuesday, officials said.

A Santa Clara County sheriff’s deputy was injured in a hit-and-run collision in Cupertino on Tuesday, a sheriff’s spokesman said today.

Shortly before 5 p.m., a deputy was patrolling on a motorcycle north on South De Anza Boulevard and was struck by a Ford Flex near Rodrigues Avenue after slowing down because of traffic in the area, sheriff’s Sgt. James Jensen said.

The male driver of the Ford fled after the collision and has not been found, according to Jensen. The Ford was white and had no sunroof, he said.

The deputy was transported to a hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening, Jensen said.
