The concept under consideration by Alum Rock Union Elementary School District would be first of its kind in country.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA – The Alum Rock Union Elementary School District in Santa Clara County announced Tuesday it is considering creating a Vietnamese English Dual Language Immersion Program that would be the first of its kind in the county.

District personnel will be researching the feasibility of the program and gauging community interest before reporting their findings to the district's board of trustees in May when the research period is expected to
be completed.

District Superintendent Dr. Hilaria Bauer said in a statement, "This program recognizes the importance of exposing our students to various cultures and languages, and in the long run, will make them much more
competitive."
