Investigators are looking for a driver in a hit-and-run crash who fled and left a injured passenger behind in Sunnyvale early Monday morning

SUNNYVALE - Investigators are looking for a driver in a hit-and-run crash who fled, leaving behind a passenger injured in Sunnyvale early Monday morning, according to the city's Department of Public Safety.

Department personnel responded to reports of a car that crashed into a soundwall and caught on fire near Lawrence Expressway and Bridgewood Way shortly before 2 a.m., public safety officials said.

A passenger was stuck inside the vehicle, a 1995 green Ford Explorer, and was rescued by Santa Clara County paramedics who were in the area before officers arrived, public safety Capt. Shawn Ahearn said.
