UPDATE On Hwy 101: Two Northbound Lanes Still Closed
CHP retracted report that all lanes were open near Burlingame.

Two lanes are closed on northbound state Highway 101 in Burlingame this evening after a crane crashed into a transmission tower Friday night and left power lines in the highway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The two lanes closed at 5:27 p.m. between Peninsula Avenue and Broadway and its uncertain when they will reopen, CHP officials said.
The CHP reported that all lanes were open at 4:20 p.m. but have since updated that report.

The crash occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Friday, causing high voltage lines to come down and block both northbound and southbound lanes, CHP officials said.
Power lines fell into the highway after a construction crane crashed into transmission tower, CHP Officer Art Montiel said. Construction workers were using the crane to work on a new vehicle overcrossing at Broadway, Montiel said.

All lanes were closed until the southbound lanes reopened at 2:34 p.m. today, according to the CHP.
Also closed this evening is the northbound Highway 101 Anza Boulevard exit and both northbound and southbound exits to Broadway.
The Broadway overpass will remain closed until Monday to accommodate for PG&E repairs, officials said.
