The La Dolce shop is located at 1280 The Alameda in San Jose. “There is a bus stop for VTA lines 22 and 522 right next to our shop,” La Dolce Velo co-owner Rob Velo said. “We see the connection every day between bike riding and public transportation.”
Studies show that the number of bicyclists increase during May, which is Bike to Work Month, and many of those new cyclists continue as a regular practice. VTA and La Dolce Velo are hoping to sweeten these odds through the bike giveaway contest!
VTA buses and light rail cars are equipped with bicycle racks, making it convenient to combine bicycle trips with transit trips. Additionally, there are more than 100 automated, easy-to-use bike lockers available at 12 light rail stations throughout the county. And coming this fall, VTA will be participating in California’s first-ever, regional bike share program that will make commuting to work or school by bicycle an even more viable travel option.
