Whiz Kid of the Week

This week’s Cupertino Patch Whiz Kid is Sangita Kunapuli

○      Accomplishment: Sangita won the overall prize for third-graders in the Bay Area.

○      Key to Awesomeness: Sangita entered the Stanford women’s basketball’s creative writing contest, “Hard Work.” Students from all over the Bay Area participated in writing Stanford-branded workbooks. Using their creative-writing skills, they completed unfinished stories by contributing a beginning, middle or ending to the story. Winners were given a T-shirt and treated to attendance at a Stanford women’s basketball game on Jan. 22, where Sangita received a basketball signed by all the players. Grace Mashore, one of Stanford’s players, also went to Lincoln Elementary school to talk to Sangita's third-grade classes.
