1,200 San Ramon Valley Volunteers Produce 200,000 Life-Saving Meals for Starving Children
Alamo, Danville & San Ramon individuals and families work to make a difference in the lives of starving children at a community event.
May 5th & May 6th, 2017– This weekend, hundreds of individuals and families, from Danville, Alamo, & San Ramon, worked side by side to prepare over 200,000 life saving meals to feed thousands of starving children in the developing world.
Through the collaborative efforts of The San Ramon Valley Interfaith Council, Feed My Starving Children, and JustServe.org., over 1200 community volunteers, aged 5 and older, gathered together in an energetic atmosphere, to lend their support in making a difference in lives of less fortunate children all over the world…one meal at a time.
Over a 2 day event, men, women and children lovingly produced truck loads of meals consisting of “Manna Packs”- a power packed formula of rice, soy protein, vegetables, and vitamins and minerals, to help combat hunger and malnutrition. These Manna Pack meals will be shipped to more than 70 countries, where they will be used to operate orphanages, schools, clinics and feeding programs to break the cycle of poverty.
