4 Danville Teens Help Catch San Ramon Man Suspected Of Bad Doings
Peter Edward Voss, 31, of San Ramon was arrested on suspicion of several crimes.

DANVILLE, CA — Four 13-year-old Danville boys knew something was wrong when they saw a man looking into cars and tugging on door handles near downtown Danville. So rather than just walk away, they flagged down a security guard who happened to be working at a downtown event.
It was Oct. 19 around 5:45 p.m., and the security guard called Danville police.
The teens' actions proved helpful. A man riding a mountain bike on the Iron Horse Trail near San Ramon Valley Boulevard was spotted by officers, and he fit the boys' description of the suspect.

Turns out the man, Peter Edward Voss, 31, of San Ramon, was riding a bike reported stolen from a local school bicycle lot, Danville police said. The bike's rightful owner was attending class on January 25 when his rig was pilfered.
Voss was arrested for possession of a stolen bicycle, tampering with vehicles and for probation violation; he was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility, according to Danville police.

The stolen bicycle was returned to the owner.
"We want to give a lot of credit to these four young men," the Danville Police Department said on social media. "They saw something, they said something, and it led to the arrest of a criminal and the return of stolen property. One of our officers on scene exclaimed, 'Those kids are awesome' when referring to the four boys who reported the suspicious activity.
"Chief Shields said he was very proud of the teens, and felt the four 13-year-olds showed exceptional character identifying and reporting someone doing wrong in their community," the post continued. "Each of the teens, through their reporting of suspicious activity, demonstrated to everyone the type of character that builds a community as strong as Danville."
