DANVILLE, CA — The Viet Nam Veterans of Diablo Valley are hosting a Memorial Day ceremony, which will feature music, tributes to the fallen, and a ribbon cutting to honor enhancements made to the All Wars Memorial.
The ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Oak Hill Park with patriotic melodies from the Danville Community Band. At 11 a.m., a ceremony will honor veterans who died in service of the country. At 12:15, a ribbon cutting ceremony will inaugurate enhancements made to the All Wars Memorial, a beautiful stone wall inaugurated in 2005 that features a plaque honoring military sacrifice. Upgrades include new descriptions of American wars, timelines of wars, additional quotations, and new spots for sitting and reflecting.
The inauguration ceremony will conclude with a re-enactor of Abraham Lincoln, who will conclude the ceremony and lead the community around the lake to the refurbished memorial.
The ceremony is free and open to the public.
